GENETIC TEST

A targeted test that reads selected variants in your DNA. Your raw data is delivered to you.

Genes and epigenetics: where your test fits

Your DNA sequence stays the same throughout your life. Epigenetics describes how your behaviours and environment change the way those genes are read. A genetic test looks at the first part of this picture: the variants you were born with.

Knowing these variants is a useful starting point. It shows where you may have a predisposition, so that lifestyle, nutrition and follow-up can be planned with that in mind.

What do we mean by a “genetic test”?

The term covers very different tests. Ours is a targeted genotyping test: the laboratory reads a selected panel of more than 100 common variants (SNPs) that research has linked to everyday health and wellbeing.

It is: a targeted panel of selected SNPs · a wellness test showing predisposition · raw data that belongs to you.

It is not: a diagnostic test for inherited disease · whole genome sequencing · an ancestry or paternity test.

Which body systems your data relates to

Your raw data file lists your genotype for each variant on the panel. The panel is organised around nine body systems. The file can be used by a healthcare professional to give you feedback in these areas; the file itself does not contain an interpretation.

Methylation & one-carbon metabolism – folate, vitamin B12 and homocysteine pathways

Cardiometabolic health – lipids, blood sugar, weight regulation and iron balance

Hormonal health & life stages – hormone balance across life stages

Brain health & stress resilience – brain plasticity, exercise response and stress

Gut health & food tolerance – lactose and gluten tolerance, gut immune balance

Immune balance – immune regulation and inflammation

Liver health & biotransformation – liver fat metabolism and detoxification enzymes

Sleep & circadian health – body clock and caffeine sensitivity

Tissue integrity – skin, hair, collagen and connective tissue; vitamin A conversion

What you receive

Your raw genetic data file (CSV), sent to your own e-mail address. The file is password-protected and the password is sent separately by SMS.

The test does not include a written report, interpretation, consultation or diagnosis. If you would like your results interpreted, you can share the file with a healthcare professional of your choice, or see our Epigenetics package on the packages page.

How it works

1. Order online. You read the privacy notice and give your consent at checkout.

2. Receive your kit. We send the saliva collection kit to your address.

3. Collect and return. You collect your own sample and return it to our UK laboratory partner. Returning the sample is your responsibility.

4. Receive your data. Results are usually ready 3–4 weeks after the laboratory receives your sample.

Your data stays with you

We send your results only to you. You may keep the file, delete it, or share it with a healthcare professional of your choice, in the UK or abroad. Your genetic data is processed under UK GDPR with your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Questions

Is this a medical diagnosis?

No. It shows genetic predisposition for wellness purposes. It does not diagnose any disease and does not replace medical advice.

Will I get a report?

No. You receive your raw data file only. For an interpretation, you can share it with a healthcare professional of your choice. A personalised epigenetic evaluation is offered separately in our Epigenetics package.

I live outside the UK. Can I order?

Yes. We send the kit to your address. Returning the sample to the UK laboratory is your responsibility; please follow your local postal and courier rules.

What if my sample is lost or cannot be analysed?

We will send you a new collection kit.

Who can order?

Adults aged 18 and over, for themselves.
